Goldfish crackers acquire a grown-up shine from a sophisticated new name: National.

Growing up are the perennial toddler tamer, lunchbox staple, goldfish crackers.

To attract senior snackers, the fish-shaped, baked cheddar crackers will now be known as Chilean Sea Bass crackers beginning of this week.

Story carries on below the advertisement.

On social media Wednesday, Campbell’s Company revealed the clever name change to the Pepperidge Farm snack brand; yet, consumers will still enjoy the same formula and look of the smiling orange snack.

Although the website suggests to check back Friday morning for a fresh batch, Chilean Sea Bass crackers are only being sold for a limited time (only one week!). You can only buy them online and, as of Thursday morning, they are sold out. This is not exactly a loaves-and-fishes scenario.

Amid a drop in eating following the epidemic, Goldfish’s temporary new name is the latest ploy from its tackle-box meant to draw new snackers. It recently included hot Goldfish Frank’s RedHot Crackers and Goldfish Old Bay Seasoned Crackers to appeal to grown-ups as well.

“We know the love for Goldfish spans all ages,” vice-president Danielle Brown of Goldfish said in a statement. “Chilean Sea Bass is a humorous nod to grownups that the famous fish-shaped snack is for grown-up tastes too.”

While stocks at Chilean Sea Bass Crackers.com last, crackers enthusiasts may get two bags of Chilean Sea Bass for US$7.38. Through October 30 the corporation hinted at “new drops of inventory.”
